“Cisco Fatty” - Win/Win - Tweet On

Ok - I know the Cisco Fatty tweet has been all over the internet, and I mean ‘all over’,  but I have to say after reading what’s come through my windows that I really think this whole situation was a win/win for both Cisco, as well as Connor Riley.

In my opinion it’s a win for Cisco, why should they deliver a ‘fatty’ paycheck to someone who actually hates the work?  (Although I’m sure they do with as many people as they employ).  And, why should Riley accept a job she does not want to do?   Albeit, a tweet like this…

“Cisco just offered me a job! Now I have to weigh the utility of a fatty paycheck against the daily commute to San Jose and hating the work.”…

certainly is not something you want to have in your public ’social networking archives’, but better to learn that at age 22 than to have built a good strong career, get known in your field and then make a mistake like this one.

All in all at the end of the day I say both parties won - Cisco can find someone who really wants the internship and Riley can move on to find an internship that she will really enjoy (although I doubt we’ll hear about it).

And one more winner is all of us who are so glad we didn’t tweet that one!
