Are you a Project Manager or thinking of getting into that field? An important part of your networking strategy to gain access into a new field and/or find a new position is to be sure that you are associated with the organizations that represent your field. In the case of Project Management there are several - the largest being PMI, (Project Management Institute) with more than half a million members. Within this organization you can become a member of a local chapter and/or network virtually along with the many educational options for furthering your knowledge and certifications in project management. There are also seminars and conferences you can attend as well as extensive reference materials to keep you up to date in your profession. There are many other management associations that you can also check into - the important thing is to stay well connected within your industry.
