Phone Interview? Get a mirror…
4th October, 2009 - Posted by Robin Ogden -
Have you ever noticed the difference in the way people sound when they’re smiling vs. frowning, or very serious? Facial expression can make such a difference in how your words come across. Check it out…the next time you are speaking with someone pay attention to their facial expressions while they are talking with you. When they smile and their eyes twinkle behind what they are saying, the way their words come across to you can be more positive, fun, energetic, etc.
What does all of this have to do with your phone interview? Well, a lot…it is important that you are able to express your personality to your caller and a great way to do this is to have a mirror in front of you when you are speaking on the phone. This will help you to remember to smile, lift your eyebrows and tilt your head when speaking - all things that will enable you to express your personality with your caller and help them to get a feel for what it’s like to work with you.
It is amazing how many people sound very dry when on a call, even though that may not be who they are in person. So, to put yourself at the best advantage it is important to come across on the phone as closely as possible to who you are in person. Using a mirror can help you achieve this result - so, grab one and use it while you’re on your phone interview.

Hi,
You have a great website with great advice–I just recently wrote an article about my recent career change:

It was difficult but eventually I had the courage to seek happiness!
I would love it if you could add my woman’s blog community to your blog roll.
If there is anything (suggestions, comments, questions) please don’t hesitate to ask.
